In a significant move today, Atlanta-based startup Fraction announced its rebranding to DevHawk, unveiling an "AI Software Factory" designed to autonomously build, run, and maintain software. DevHawk's platform utilizes a suite of specialized AI agents, guided by senior engineers, to manage the full spectrum of software development tasks. These agents cover up to nine disciplines, including product, architecture, QA, DevOps, and security, effectively creating a self-sufficient development pipeline. Companies can choose to have DevHawk's team operate this factory or integrate the agents into their own engineering workflows.

The company, founded by serial entrepreneur Praveen Ghanta, previously focused on providing access to senior US engineers. With this pivot, DevHawk aims to dramatically enhance productivity, enabling a single senior engineer to achieve the output of six to ten traditional team members. This approach promises to accelerate development speeds by up to tenfold and reduce costs by 80-90%, challenging conventional staffing models in the software industry.
